Howdy Folks,

Those of you with an eye for the future are likely starting to see the next WoW Classic raid approaching sometime this month! This thread is meant to help us start planning and figuring out the best way to tackle this raid as a guild. There are a few things to keep in mind that make ZG (Zul'Gurub) different from previous raids and while the officers have discussed and came up with a proposed strategy for tackling it, if there are better ideas out there that we haven't considered as always we are open to feedback!

So what makes ZG different?
1) This maximum raid size is 20!
2) The lockout time is 3 days!
3) ZG is expected to be similar difficulty to MC if not a bit easier

And what does that mean for us as raiders?
For people that are motivated and want to be raiding as much as possible there are going to be significantly more things to do and lockouts to hit if you're trying to do everything possible.
For members that aren't looking to raid 4+ nights a week due to real life commitments, it means that there's new content that we'll be progressing together!

How are we planning to change our schedule with this addition of content?
The proposed change is to add one night to our scheduled raid nights

Currently we have 2 nights a week scheduled for raids:
Mondays from 9 pm - 12 am eastern
Fridays from 9 pm - 12 am eastern

Due to existing raid nights in our retail WoW chapter (which has significant overlap in player base) the new raid night will need to be either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday nights. Please see the following poll to give feedback on which night would be best for you and also to get other feedback!

What about players that are looking to be doing ZG as much as possible?
We expect that there will be quite a bit of PuG (pickup group) groups forming for ZG and officers will be on the lookout to try to coordinate smaller groups of Tenacious members to hop into these when possible. To facilitate this we'll be adding an opt in role in discord if you're looking to get pinged when someone either has a pug looking for members or is trying to put something together. If we have significant interest during off nights we will also look into hosting some pugs ourselves as well.

How are we going to handle points with a new raid coming out?
The current plan is to keep things super simple for ZG loot and have no points for ZG and just do MS>OS with the same round robin style used previously. We are still putting together a priority sheet which will list what is considered MS for each item so be looking for that in the near future, and once out we'll have a meeting to discuss any concerns on that sheet.

As always your feedback is greatly appreciated if you have any ideas for things you'd like to see! Please fill out the poll!

Alright the poll results are finalized and our ZG raid time is set:

Zul'gurub raids will be Thursday evenings starting at the normal raid time of 9PM server! As we thought going in there is a mixed bag of people's motivation on ZG and, combined with officer schedules to lead raids our goal of hitting one ZG raid a week and facilitating pugs / additional raids with POSITIVITY definitely seems like the right move going forward.

This may change but POSITIVITY's ZG raids are planned for Wednesday and Saturday currently. You can reach out to Jacogi in game if you're looking to hop in on those!
